Central-Eastern-European SAP Quality Awards Competition – The project of MHTC and Fornax SI is a Gold Winner
Fornax SI performed several SAP installations in the past years. Several of these proved so successful that the clients received prestigious international acknowledgments from the industry. The latest of these is a gold prize of SAP Quality Awards in Central and Eastern Europe in the category of Fast Implementation, which was given to the implantation of a unified integrated IT system at the Midwest Hungarian Traffic Center (MHTC).
This was the third gold winning project that Fornax SI implemented in the recent past. In 2014 the reimplementation of a uniform Management Information System for Hungarian Electrics, in 2015 the SAP installation of National Infocommunications Ltd, and this year the SAP installation of MHTC owned by the Hungarian National Asset Management Inc. were all gold winners of the SAP Quality Awards.
Midwest Hungarian Traffic Center (MHTC), the successor company of Vértes Volán and Alba Volán, introduced a unified, integrated IT system. The enterprise software of SAP covers the areas of personnel and payroll beside several others (e.g.: asset management, logistics, finance). The complex solution was installed by the experts of Fornax SI and T-Systems Hungary in six months. The system went live successfully in May.
After the two Volán companies merged into MHTC the creation of a new IT concept was needed. As a result the company with a headcount of more than 1500 has a clear, unified picture of every detail of its operation. Moreover, the management information system enables the planning of the maintenance and the administration of the 530 buses, the uniform handling of invoices, the wire transfers and the support of measurement of capacity usage. At the company working with thousands of partners the processing of invoices will become quicker and more controlled, and revenue and expenditure will be trackable on a daily basis. With the advanced analytic features various reports will be easier to obtain, the company strategy will be easier to draft by the leaders of the departments.
The company covering 3.5 million kilometers and transporting 7.3 million passengers a month is expecting an efficient support of its operation from the SAP management information system. The business-specific solution costs 78 million HUF, and was realized within a centralized public procurement process.
A professional team of cooperating experts worked on the SAP installation at MHTC, most of the team members have been working on similar projects together for almost 20 years. Employees of Fornax worked following a project management strategy based on almost 20 years of experience. During the work of Fornax experts project management methodology is closely connected with the implementation roadmap, the SAP installation method – the so-called ASAP7 implementation methodology. This methodology triplet is the key to the expert team of Fornax to deliver the MHTC SAP installation project on time and complying with the quality requirements.
The winners for this year were announced during a ceremony which took place during the SAP Executive Forum Prague. The challenges do not end there, however, as gold winners automatically proceed to the regional SAP Quality Awards (i.e. across all of Europe, Middle East, and Africa) and the short listing among all the Gold winners will start in January 2017 once all SAP EMEA market units have completed their local program and found their winners.
